- Apply real-world evidence to inform second-line treatment selection for patients with HR+/HER2− metastatic breast cancer following progression on CDK4/6 inhibitor therapy.
- Differentiate between oral SERDs and emerging targeted combinations based on efficacy, safety, and patient-specific factors.
- Evaluate the clinical utility of ctDNA surveillance for ESR1 mutations in patients responding to first-line therapy.
- Integrate patient-reported outcomes and quality-of-life considerations when selecting between monotherapy and combination treatment strategies.
Monotherapies vs Combinations – Navigating Oral SERDs and Targeted Combination Strategies in HR+/HER2- Metastatic Breast Cancer
July 9, 2026
5:45 PM - 6:45 PM CT
Virtual Regional Meeting | Missouri
Overview:
Oral selective estrogen receptor degraders (SERDs) and targeted combination strategies are reshaping the treatment landscape for HR+/HER2- metastatic breast cancer. Following progression on CDK4/6 inhibitor plus endocrine therapy, clinicians now have multiple therapeutic options, including oral SERDs as monotherapy and in combination with CDK4/6 inhibitors, PI3K/AKT/mTOR inhibitors, and other targeted agents. As these therapies become available, it is vital for clinicians to stay current on the evolving clinical efficacy data, understand the distinctions between available agents, and recognize the unique safety profiles and toxicity management strategies for each approach.
This program brings together expert faculty to discuss the latest advances and enable the integration of oral SERDs and emerging combination strategies into HR+/HER2- metastatic breast cancer care. Through interactive, case-based discussions between academic and community oncology colleagues, participants will gain practical insights and strategies to navigate complex treatment selection and sequencing decisions, differentiate between monotherapy and combination approaches based on patient-specific factors, apply real-world evidence alongside clinical trial data, and proactively manage treatment-related adverse events to optimize patient outcomes.
