Overview
Atopic dermatitis (AD) affects millions of Americans, resulting in a reduced quality of life. Traditional treatment regimens for AD are often complex, involving multiple active drugs along with moisturizers, bathing recommendations, and other lifestyle interventions. However, the available treatments for AD also have limitations associated with their efficacy, tolerability, and safety concerns. Recent research has identified a role for the OX40 and OX40 ligand (OX40L) pathway in the development of AD. This pathway represents a promising therapeutic target for the complex treatment of AD.

Overview
Atopic dermatitis (AD) affects approximately 5% to over 20% of children worldwide, with large variations among countries and ethnic groups. AD has detrimental effects on the quality of life (QoL) of patients and their families. In children, itching and scratching can lead to substantial sleep deprivation. Children with AD can also develop behavioral difficulties, social ramifications, significant morbidities, and high health care costs. In this live and virtual presentation, expert faculty will discuss the burden of disease and conventional and novel therapeutic approaches for the management of children with AD. Case studies will be reviewed to show audiences how experts handle complex situations.
